Many thanks to John Hucik, Ron Roberts & James Rudolph who used heavy equipment, muscle and brains to remove the footing that was in the way of our boat ramp. Footing now has a new home as a part of Ron's bulkhead.
Well, actually it was a great community potluck dessert party start for the 4th festivities. Fireworks came later!
July 4th: It's time for our annual dessert potluck @ our beach picnic area while we watch the fireworks from Camano and Oak Harbor. Oak Harbor is celebrating their Centennial with a "4th OH July" party and plans the biggest fireworks display they've ever had. Enjoy a great time with your neighbors and bring a dessert to share if you'd like. Fireworks: As adopted by our community at the annual meeting a few years ago, only legal fireworks are allowed in the common areas. That being said, it is very apparent that the Shangri-La Shores area is unusually dry right now. It would be unwise to set off fireworks in any of the common areas where there is a risk of an errant firework landing anywhere except in the water. Please be safe, respect our community property, and respect your neighbors. Please note that Island County has a total outdoor burn ban in effect. Read more about that below: The local eagle population dines here, so it must be good!

It's this Saturday May 30th at 10 am at the Firehouse on Race Road. Our potluck picnic follows the meeting at about 12:30 pm in the picnic area. Weather is predicted to be awesome, but just in case it's nasty plan to meet in the Boat House. |
