Water Test information from Board; Feb 2017:
You may have read in the news about possible water contamination from the Navy’s Out Lying Field’s past use of fire retardants or other uses that included the use of fluorinated organic chemicals (PFOA & PFOS). The Navy is testing wells within a 1 mile radius of OLF and has found wells that exceed the EPA’s health advisory levels. We lie outside of a 1 mile radius but the Board felt that we should test on our own. The results of that test are that these chemicals are Not Detected in our water system.
