Last week's high winds & waves tore up our picnic and our boat ramp turn around areas. Also a lot of driftwood and trash need to be removed before the damage can be assessed and plans made for repairs. Here's a picture of the driftwood in the picnic area. It's deeper than it looks. Most of our gravel is gone and replaced by a thick bed of debris: The community is planning a work party next weekend, Saturday March 26 1-3 pm to clean up the areas. Your help is needed! Meanwhile, this weekend Rob Marsicek, David Heron & Nancy Reed dived in to begin the job. Much of the large pieces of driftwood were moved back to the beach: So come out next weekend to help your community!

Many thanks to John Hucik, Ron Roberts & James Rudolph who used heavy equipment, muscle and brains to remove the footing that was in the way of our boat ramp. Footing now has a new home as a part of Ron's bulkhead.
James Rudolph reports: "On Saturday October 20th at 4:00 the float was removed for the season. Care was taken to leave the Boat ramp accessible. Getting to the picnic area is a little tight, but I think it is a good compromise. Thanks to all who pitched in: John Hucik , Randy Nolan, Steve Sechrist, and Ron Roberts.
The fact that the new float sustained no damage this year is a great sign. Some wear is evident on the rub surfaces and will be replaced prior to next season." |
